Three traditions,
one decision.

Numerology isn’t a single system. It’s a quarrel between three of them — each with a different alphabet, a different history, and a different opinion about your name.

The historical claim:

“All things are number.”

— Attributed to Pythagoras, c. 530 BCE

We don’t need this to be metaphysically true. The systems below have been used for centuries; the tool computes them exactly as they’re defined and shows the result.

c. 530 BCE · Greece

Pythagorean

Pythagoras taught that number was the substrate of reality. His system maps the Roman alphabet to 1–9 in order, looping back. The most common system in the West.

c. 600 BCE · Babylon

Chaldean

Older. Values 1–8 assigned by sound vibration, not alphabetical order. The number 9 was sacred and unassigned. Considered more accurate for names by traditional practitioners.

c. 1500 BCE · India

Vedic

Sanskrit-rooted. Letter values tied to planetary correspondences — Mars, Venus, Saturn. The same framework underlies the 27-Nakshatra birth-star system.
